Mottram 312 Dinting 287
Mottram Under 13’s win
their second game under the new leadership of P. Mellor and M. Scott.
A
disappointing start to the season has been long forgotten as Mottram won
their second game of the season out of 4. They lost their first 2 games
against older teams but have shown their bouncebackability to beat Old
Glossop in a very tight game and Dinting in a much more comfortable manner.
Mottram batted first and opened up like usual with the dominating
partnership of Nick Kromolocki (22) and Alasdair Brown (quickest person in
the world! just ask him) (16) This brought about good running and some
quality shots including a HUGE 6 from Kromolocki and some nice 4’s from both
of the lads. They had got us off to a great start, 239 off 5 overs (note,
both teams start on 200!) The second pair of Stephen Scott (13) and Sam
Fazackerley (9) saw the score leap to 274 off 10 overs. Both played very
well with some nice pull shots from both of the lads. The third pair of Jake
Berry (11) and Max Napier (-2) got the score to 289 off 15 overs and both
played well and showed good patience. The final pair of Francis Bowers (9)
and Adam Fitton (7) batted well, even with a runner for Fitton, which caused
a bit of confusion and amusement for the crowd! Mottram finished on 312 a
good score considering the terrible weather.
Dinting started in unusual style with Lewis Turner hitting everything to leg
especially cow corner. However, wickets tumbled leaving Dinting only 222
after 5 overs due to some good bowling from F. Bowers and A. Brown picking
up 1 and 2 wickets respectively. The spinners A. Fitton and S. Scott (should
of bowl seam!) looked after the second pair and kept them quite with A.
Fitton taking 1 wicket. More good bowling from M. Napier and J. Berry dealt
with the 3rd pair both taking a wicket. N. Kromolocki bowled well
to the final pair along with the other death bowlers, Bowers, Brown and
Fitton. Dinting finished on 287 and Mottram went away with their second win
of in 2 games under the new leadership of P. Mellor and M. Scott. The losses
at the start of the season have been long forgotten about as the team
continues to grow in strength, Com’on the boys!
