A Few Details About Neal & Family Photos Supplied By Neal's Sister Janice

Born 14th November 1959 at Ashton Hospital.

Lived his early life in Hadfield and went to school at St Lukes, Glossop, then Gamesley CP School.

At age 11 went to Hyde Grammar School.

We moved to Mottram in 1971, and lived at 109 Broadbottom Road, opposite the club.

Neal must have joined the juniors soon after this.

He had some cricketing heritage - my mum's cousin was John Ninnes, who umpired for many years in the Glossop and District League. My dad, Eric and his brother, Brian both played for Crowden. Dad claims to have been in a team which got the Gasworks out for 6 !!

After A levels Neal left school to work for Barclays Bank in Ashton.

I think you know the rest.............

Please pass on our thanks to everyone. It has been a great comfort to know how well liked and respected Neal was, and the club gave him a great 'send-off'.

Best wishes

Janice
